1. Context

Institutional Background

The Sudan Architecture Forum is a recurring national platform bringing together architects, students, professionals, and the wider public around architectural dialogue and the built environment.

The forum serves as an important space for professional exchange, knowledge sharing, and public engagement with contemporary architectural ideas and regional development.

The 11th edition featured internationally recognized architect Francis Kéré during his first visit to Sudan, where he was involved in the development of the Meroë Royal Baths Protective Shelter project. His participation significantly elevated the visibility and expectations surrounding the forum.

Operational Resilience

Two days before the event, the original venue became unavailable, requiring rapid restructuring across communication, logistics, audience management, and technical delivery while maintaining confidence among attendees, speakers, and stakeholders.

On-Site Adaptation

Technical Recovery

The disruption was managed as a communication challenge rather than only an operational issue - maintaining stakeholder confidence, audience experience, and event continuity despite significant last-minute changes.

The forum was delivered at full scale without disruption to attendance, program flow, or audience experience.
